MUSWELLBROOK rugby league fans are being invited to take a trip down memory lane in a bid to come up with the best Rams team of the past three decades.
To coincide with the Rams’ annual ball, the club has appointed three anonymous selectors to choose a heritage team as part of this year’s centenary of rugby league celebrations.
Rams president Barry Edwards said the 17 players and coach would be announced at the ball on July 26.
“The Muswellbrook Rams have been around since 1975 - I think before that they were called the Wanderers,” Edwards said.
“So we have decided that we want to choose the best team that has played for the club since it became the Rams.”
The selectors have put their heads together to come up with three suggestions for each position, which will be published in a coming edition of the Muswellbrook Chronicle.
Members of the community are invited to write to the club and can either choose players from the selectors suggestions, or add their own.
Early submissions are also welcome and can be sent to PO Box 58, Muswellbrook 2333.
The Rams Ball will be held at Muswellbrook Indoor Sports Centre on July 26.
Tickets are $50 per head and are available from Kalolane Food Services in Muswellbrook, or by phoning Barry Edwards on 0427 002 489 or Ron Harmer on 0419 167 519.
